How long have you been practicing Yoga?
I've been practicing Yoga since last May. That's when I moved to Qualicum Beach and fortunately discovered the Yoga Grace studio.
What are some of the “gifts” that Yoga has brought into your life?
Some of the gifts that Yoga has brought into my life are that I'm gaining strength, a calmer mind, flexibility, and some new muscles!
Do you have a favourite Yoga posture/breathing technique/mantra? If so, tell us!
My favourite Yoga posture is downward dog because I feel relaxed yet strong in the pose. Ujjayi breathing is my favourite breathing technique because I find it very calming. Fave mantra is Om because it's the only one I actually know. 🙂
What inspires you?
Nature inspires me, especially animals. I think we can learn a lot from them.
What do you love about practicing at Yoga Grace?
What do I love about practicing at Yoga Grace? Well, I can't name just one thing. The studio itself is warm and inviting. Everyone is very welcoming and almost like family. The instructors are knowledgeable and patient and seem to really care about the students as individuals. The whole experience at Yoga Grace made me fall in love with Yoga.
What would you tell someone wanting to try Yoga for the first time?
What would I tell someone who's wanting to try Yoga for the first time? I'd tell them to take their first class at Yoga Grace! They give you the space to practice at your own pace and level. And they have a great selection of classes, from beginners to advanced. If you're older or maybe have a disability or injury, you can still practice Yoga... you can always modify poses to your abilities while slowly gaining strength. And Yoga is fantastic for stress reduction, which we can all use.
