TEACHER FEATURE: BONNIE
How long have you been practicing Yoga?
Since my early 20’s, so that would be over 45 years!
What does Yoga mean to you?
Yoga for me is not simply a physical practice. Yoga is life, is everything, is breath, is now, is consciousness, is kindness, gratitude, service and community.
What is one gift that Yoga has given you or brought to your life?
An open heart with ever growing consciousness.... the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind for me equals the cessation of egoic derived pain and suffering.
What inspires you?
Spending time with people who expand consciousness in honesty and integrity, openly admitting we are all basically a hot mess and a glorious work in progress.
What do you love about teaching and practicing at Yoga Grace?
How kind and patient everyone has been with me during my challenging days.
What would you say to someone who is wanting to try Yoga for the very first time?
Any reason you might have for not doing Yoga, is EXACTLY why I would encourage you to show up. Show up for your body, your mind, your soul, your spirit.
If you feel stiff, inflexible, sad, disconnected, lonely, bored, agitated, angry or overwhelmed.... Yoga is the best remedy to quiet your mind, soothe your soul and energize and heal your body. These gentle movements release tension and stress, issues in our tissues, releasing positive hormones, boosting our immune system, and bringing joy.... just for starters!
Deep gratitude and love to you all,
Bonnie
