TEACHER FEATURE: LAURA
How long have you been practicing Yoga?
A relatively short time, around 25 years!
What does Yoga mean to you?
Cultivating a steadiness as we journey through life (self awareness).
What is one gift that Yoga has given you or brought to your life?
Moments when I sense connection to the innate wisdom of my body. A sense of knowing that is completely different from the thinking/knowing/analytical construct of the mind. A liberating recognition that I am not my thoughts. A thought may be a habit and it can be changed.
What inspires you?
Nature inspires me. Nature humbles me. My teachers and students in their own exploration inspire me.
What do you love about teaching and practicing at Yoga Grace?
I love that Yoga Grace is driven by a passion to share and a passion to be inclusive.
What would you say to someone who is wanting to try Yoga for the very first time?
Your breath is the most important aspect of any Yoga practice. Let go of any images you have of people in poses or seated in meditation. Let go of a need to “get it”. Let go of a need to be productive. Yoga will find you.
