How long have you been practicing Yoga?
I took my first Yoga class by watching “Lilias, Yoga and You” on TV in January 1971. I did Yoga on and off until 1986 when I became more committed to the practice.
What are some of the “gifts” that Yoga has brought into your life?
The deeper understanding of finding stillness through movement. As well as the opportunity to practice being present in my humanness which allows me to soften my mind, breath, inner vision, fluid body, muscular body and skeletal body.
Do you have a favourite Yoga posture/breathing technique/mantra? If so, tell us!
I do enjoy all postures that are connected into a flow as I feel inspired by the space between the individual posture that creates the whole flow. The breathwork is the link pin of the flow from posture to posture.
What inspires you?
An inner yearning to be settled in all aspects of my “self”. Those aspects include body, emotions, thoughts and sensations. This also could be described as my sense of self.
What do you love about practicing at Yoga Grace?
Great teachers that embody and grace of Yoga, as well as the wonderful connection between students - before, during and after class.
What would you tell someone wanting to try Yoga for the first time?
Do it. You will never know unless you give Yoga a chance.
